Keep On Path

Wasn't Jesus the original hippie? With his sandals, dress and kind, compassionate, tender, joyful nature? What a loaded word that is! I am oftentimes called a hippie – in some ways, I am, some not. I am an Older Mom with Young Kids and Older Kids, Four in All – Remarried, Striving to make a Step Family with Love and God's help.

Five Minute Friday – Rhythm

Five Minute Friday’s – 5 Minutes of Blogging (very difficult not to go back – rewrite, etc!) from – she has great Mom Writing!!

Rhythm:  Musical sounds and silences … regular recurring motion …

School bus arriving.

Straighten up, activity or errand of the day … ahhhhhhh, nap time.

Older kids back home.

Down time.

Working on dinner, their activities, homework, bath, reading ….

Falling face forward BED.

Repeat.  And Repeat.

Then Summer.

Activities, friends, meals, DOWNTIME.  Clean, straighten, errands.

Repeat.  Repeat.  Repeat.

Stringing it all together.  Strands woven into a tapestry.  Silken, raw, coarse beauty, frayed edges, mistakes made, some corrected, some not.

A harmonious Vivaldi, a forceful Beethoven, a building Ravel.

Conductor of your orchestra.  You did not write the music, but your baton will set the pace and provide the inspiration.

Dear God, steady my hand.

A summer concert, a cool breeze, children laughing and playing.

Sometimes, rote memorization and monotony – every day.  But the skills of the conductor turn meaningless notes on paper into small daily miracles.

Wishing you the ability to close your eyes and …

Savor the Symphony.

Visiting from FMF. 🙂 This is beautiful! I love the analogy of the orchestra/sympony. This is my favorite part: “Stringing it all together. Strands woven into a tapestry. Silken, raw, coarse beauty, frayed edges, mistakes made, some corrected, some not.”
